The Killing of Apex Predators, What does it mean

From Live In The Philippines, Today, Read 0 times. Similar articles

People who read my articles on a regular basis will realize that I am quite passionate about the Marine World and I try to advertise to people that in order to keep the balance in the oceans that Apex Predators such as Sharks are very necessary because  as it is being discovered right now in many areas of the world that without such great predators to Cull the sick, lame, old and stupid members of other species the balance of nature will be lost and the species Gene Pool will degrade to a point... Corrupt Police! Oh my!

From Live In The Philippines, Yesterday, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Corruption, corruption!  Corruption is terrible in the Philippines, didn’t you know that'  I mean, you can hardly go an hour in your life without facing some terrible kind of corruption. Or at least, that is what people say. In my life, I simply have not experienced such terrible things, though.  Maybe I am different than most, but then again, most of the other foreigners that I know who live here never seem to tell me about having to fight terrible incidents of corruption either.  Oh... Bizarre Foods!

From Live In The Philippines, Yesterday, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Today I was gonna write about the bizarre behavior of our dear neighbor. I can’t even begin to tell you how their attitudes were. They are the one at fault but didn’t up to it. Instead of saying sorry they are blaming us. My gosh, what a neighbor we have here. Well, when I look over my shoulder I saw Bob already wrote an article about the incident that happened a few days ago. I let him do the honor of explaining everything because I am still too upset over that matter. Why the... Read more

From Live In The Philippines, 2 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Huh'  Whazzat you're talking ?bout, Paul'  Are you thrusting another mind-bender on us' Many have been wondering what I've been up to.  It seems as though the last, three-part article was a little bit much for some readers.  Other readers wonder if something is wrong and that I'm relying on ?back-up, just in case' articles to fill the void. Rest easy, dear readers:  I'm fine, and all is well.  I am currently taking a little vacation.  As the title says, it's a ?Vacation from a Vacation.?  Let... Read more

Getting to the Root of the Problem

From Live In The Philippines, 2 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

I remember it started in 2004. Granny gave me cloves to bite on, but I found cold milk, settled over the painful tooth-area, to be the best remedy. The clothes didn’t numb the pain. The dentist thought I needed a root canal, but my mom seemed to doubt the idea. The doctor thought of possible sinus infection, and gave me antibiotics. It cleared up. It almost flared back up in 2007, but more antibiotics did the trick. In late 2008, it hit at its worse. I was soon to have all 4 of my wisdom... Read more

One person can't really make a difference

From Live In The Philippines, 3 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

You hear it all the time – One person can’t really make a difference. When it is election time, a lot of people don’t vote, and when you ask why they say… One vote can’t change anything.  Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good habit to get into having that kind of attitude. How does this apply to the subject of this site, living in the Philippines'  Well, just keep reading, and you will understand. The fact is that as a foreigner living in the Philippines,... Read more

Home is where the heart is

From Live In The Philippines, 3 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

A noise awakens me from a deep sleep. As I look out my plane window I see a castle perched high on a mountain top. Floating past it like a bird, I realize I am in Taipei, China. Just 12 hours ago I was frantic at SFO with what I thought might have been trouble with my ?balikbayan' boxes. My apprehension was quickly put to rest by Sherry at the China Airlines ticket counter. I am 40 plus kilos over my allotted weight and have three boxes extra as well. Usually I would be charged substantially... Read more

Monsooner or Monlater, You're Gonna Get Wet

From Live In The Philippines, 4 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Here in the Philippines, the climate is tropical. What does that mean' Well, a few of things. First, the tropics is the area located between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer… Everything in the middle. Because of the location of the Philippines (Between 4° 40′ N and 21° 10′ N), the country is wholly, 100% tropical. Next, the location means that the length of your day is relatively consistent throughout the year: Roughly 12 hours in most of the country.... Read more

If It's On The Menu

From Live In The Philippines, 4 days ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

The Advertisement said that every Friday Night they served Mongolian BBQ, I'd been there before, just two weeks prior, it was good. (Their lunch menu has a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that is the best I've had outside of Philadelphia.) My buddy has just come home after being to sea for the last three months. We decided to head over to the Casablanca Hotel on Subic Freeport and chow down on Mongolian BBQ. The added benefit was their huge pool with a swim up bar, when you order food, you may... Read more
